John Winthrop is reelected governor.

(OS-5/18) Winthrop is reelected governor of the Massachusetts Bay Company “by the general consent of the Whole Court, manifested by the erection of hands.” The first election held in Boston, it is participated in by 116 freemen, who then approve an order that no one shall be admitted as a freeman who is not a church member.
